Cauldron: Who influences your style?

RD: I'm influenced by the streets, from the guy riding his bike to class, from the graffiti spray painted by the railroad track. Inspiration is everywhere; you just gotta open your eyes.

Cauldron: Favorite place to shop?

RD: Hands down, Goodwill. The best thing I've ever gotten from Goodwill was a vintage Valentino blazer, and it was, I believe, $11. It was really cheap, and it was in near-perfect condition. I got lucky on that one.

Cauldron: New York is one of the fashion capitals of the world. If you could bring anything from New York to Cleveland, what would you like to bring?

RD: I want to bring the love of fashion. People in New York have a genuine love for fashion. Not to say Cleveland lacks style, but the passion isn't there.

Cauldron: Who is your favorite designer and why?

RD: Hands down Tom Ford. He has single-handedly revolutionized the fashion industry. Not only from his amazing designs, but also from his advertisements. It's out of the box and eye-catching, that's for sure.

Cauldron: What does style mean to you?

RD: [Style is] saying what you need to say without speaking a word. It's discovering who you are as an individual, and that style is a form of self-expression. Style is simply you.

Cauldron: Do you ever have dress-down days?

RD: No, not ever. I will strut in my heals on a snowy day if I have to.

Cauldron: If you could go anywhere in the world to go shopping, where would it be?

RD: I've already been there. It's Williamsburg, Brooklyn. They have the best vintage shops, and St. Marx place, which is in the lower east side of New York. Those two are by far the best places to shop vintage. I just gave away my secret!

Cauldron: So vintage is your style?

RD: Yes absolutely.  It just hit mainstream this year. I mean, I've been thrift shopping since high school, and that was forever ago.

Cauldron: What do you hope to see once you graduate from CSU?

RD: I hope to inspire others to gain style, gain individualism. Don't be afraid to step outside the box and be an individual. That's the most important thing. Expressing yourself as an individual is by far the most important thing to me. I believe our bodies are blank canvases and every morning we get up and paint our canvas with clothes and accessories, and we create our own masterpiece."
